Galvanized steel wire
This document defines the requirements for hard temper, and extra high strength (EHS) galvanized steel wire in the diameter range of 0.051 inch (1.30mm) to 0.083 inch (2.11mm).

General:
The galvanized steel wire meets the requirements of ASTM A641 for Class 1 hard temper wire, exceptions being noted. Where there is a conflict between this specification and ASTM A641, this specification shall govern.
Exception: Part number 035009, 0.072" (1.83mm) extra high strength (EHS) material meet all of the requirements of this specification. - Specification:

Smooth, continuous and silver bright.
Free of processing lubricants.
Free of slivers, kinks, pits, splints, scale and other imperfections not consistent with good commercial practice. - Adherence of coating
The zinc coating shall not splint or flake when tested in accordance with ASTM A641 and ASTM A326, adherence of coating section, using a mandrel equal in diameter to that of the wire. - Packaging
Material may be packaged either on a reel less coil or a wire carrier.
The nominal minimum package weight shall be 1000 pounds.
Wire shall be furnished in one continuous length per package.
Wire on reel less coils are wound in tight, uniform layers.
